A.   Quick Commentary 

 

1.   Further to KQU 3386 of 22.5.25, being an Important matter, we would inform you about video SUPARCO's Prediction About Eid-ul-Adha (Attachment 62.1).

 

2.   The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has announced its official moon sighting prediction for Zul-Hijjah 1446 Hijri.

 

3.   According to SUPARCO, the new moon of Zul-Hijjah will be born on 27.5.25 at 8:02 PM Pakistan Standard Time.

 

4.   On this day, the duration between sunset and moonset will be only 37 minutes, which is too brief for the moon to be sighted with the naked eye across most parts of Pakistan.

 

5.   Scientifically, the likelihood of seeing the moon on 27th May is nearly zero nationwide. Therefore, the moon is expected to be sighted on 29.5.25 in specific regions, while the Eid-ul-Adha celebration will occur on 7.6.25 throughout Pakistan as per the official lunar calendar.
